NIU Law Alumni Council Elects New Executive Committee; Omar Salguero (‘12) Becomes Council President

The NIU College of Law Alumni Council elected a new Executive Committee during its October 17, 2020 meeting.  Omar Salguero (’12) began his term as President and Jay Wiegman (’92) became First Vice President.  Rachel Hernandez Hoag (‘05) was elected Second Vice President and Diane Elliot (’05) was elected Secretary.  Outgoing President Larry Stein (’93) and Secretary Rachel Hernandez Hoag (’05) were honored for their leadership and service over the past two years.

The Council also welcomed new members: Brooke Benoit (’20), Michael Cortina (’98), Mariam Hafezi (’10), Jason Blumenthal (’19), Alejandro Cuautli (’17), and Toi Hutchinson (’10).

The NIU Law Alumni Council is an advisory board to the Dean and College whose purposes are to further the ideals of College of Law and promote the interests of its students and alumni.  The Alumni Council supports all of the events and programming of the College of Law including the annual Awards Program, golf outing, and alumni receptions.
