Support NIU Law During 2021 Thousands Strong Day of Giving

Please join the NIU College of Law and support one of our biggest fundraising efforts during the 2021 Thousands Strong Day of Giving beginning  on Wednesday, November 10 at 5:30 p.m. with a brief Thousands Strong Kickoff Show (register via Zoom).  The show will be a live broadcast from the Chessick Center and include a mix of live and pre-recorded elements designed to be short (no longer than 1,000 seconds), high-energy, a chance to win prizes, and most importantly, FUN!  The Day of Giving campaign will then run until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday.

After the Kickoff Show, our Day of Giving will commence and we invite you to visit the College of Law’s Thousand Strong Day of Giving website and consider a donation to support one of the college’s priorities.  We are extremely grateful to have fundraising challenges from NIU Law Professor Emeritus Mark Cordes and Victoria Young, College of Law Alumni Council, College of Law Board of Visitors, and an anonymous donor.  Unlocking these challenges with your donations will add more to our scholarship funds.

College of Law Priorities:

  • Dean’s Strategic Initiatives Fund – This fund allows the maximum flexibility in addressing its most pressing needs. A portion of the fund provides Bar Prep Scholarships for graduates studying for the bar examination.
  • Leona S. Green Diversity Initiatives Fund– This new fund was named for former Professor Leona Green and will provide financial support for any and all diversity initiatives including student scholarships and programming.
  • The New Business Innovation Legal Clinic – This new College of Law Clinic is scheduled to open Fall 2022 and will offer high-quality, transactional legal assistance to primarily underrepresented entrepreneurs, small business owners and not-for-profit business organizations.
  • Leonard & Stacey Mandell Endowed Scholarship Fund– This scholarship will help us continue our recruiting efforts to further access, opportunity and diversity in the law and assist current students in need.
  • Clinics – Experiential learning opportunities are critical to provide hands-on learning experiences for our students to advocate on behalf of real clients under the supervision of clinical faculty who are experienced lawyers.
  • Daniel S. Reynolds Scholarship Fund– This scholarship helps recruit applicants with excellent academic credentials.

Know that you can make a difference, whatever the amount.  Thank you for your dedication to and support of the College of Law!
