Harold W. Conick (’80) Named DuPage County Bar Association President

Harold “Hal” W. Conick (’80), a longtime DuPage County resident and solo practitioner in Wheaton, has been elected President of the DuPage County Bar Association for the 2026–2027 term.

Born in Bayside, Queens, New York, Harold “Hal” Conick spent his early years in Minnesota and Chicago before making DuPage County his home more than four decades ago. He raised his son in Wheaton, where he later met his wife, Evelyn, and established deep roots in the community he continues to serve today.

A dedicated civic volunteer, Hal has been actively involved in numerous local organizations throughout the years, including the Jaycees, Lions, and Wheaton Rotary Club, where he served as President. His commitment to public service has also included service on a village zoning board and as a trustee of the DuPage Township Board. Outside of his professional life, Hal enjoys Civil War reenacting, collecting antiques, traveling, and spending time with his three beloved dogs.

Hal brings this same spirit of service to the legal profession. A solo practitioner in Wheaton, his practice focuses on Social Security and VA disability benefits, probate, and estate planning. Earlier in his career, he served as an Assistant Illinois Attorney General, a hearing officer for the DuPage Housing Authority, and an adjunct professor of Health Law.

A graduate of Loyola University Chicago and Northern Illinois University College of Law, Hal is admitted to practice before Illinois state courts, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the United States Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

An active member of the DuPage County Bar Association for many years, Hal has served in numerous leadership roles, including Chair of the Veterans Day Program, CLE presenter, contributor to The Brief, Director and Secretary of the DuPage County Bar Foundation, and member of the DCBA Board of Directors. The DuPage County Bar Association is proud to welcome Hal as its President for the 2026–2027 bar year.
