Stange Presents at ALWD Legal Writing Conference

Legal Writing Program Director Meredith Stange attended the Association of Legal Writing Directors (ALWD) Biennial Legal Writing Conference titled “Acknowledging Lines: Talking About What Unites and Divides Us.” The conference was held July 19-21, 2017 at the University of Minnesota Law School in Minneapolis, MN.

On July 20th, Professor Stange was a facilitator for the two small group breakout sessions following Professor Rachel Godsil’s presentation titled “Addressing the Effects of Implicit Bias and Racial Anxiety in Law School Dynamics,” and Professor Erin Kelly’s presentation titled “Encouraging Diversity and Creating Community: Research and Reflections.” The purpose of these breakout sessions was to encourage members of the ALWD community to discuss the presentations in the context of the legal writing, law school and ALWD communities as well as to reflect on their personal experiences. On July 21st Professor Stange, along with Joel Atlas and Robin Boyle, presented on a discussion panel titled “Teaching Ideas: Analysis and Writing.”
