SBA Elects New Board for 2020-21; Sariol Elected President

2020-21 SBA President Jennifer Sariol

The NIU Law student body voted in a new Student Bar Association (SBA) Board for the 2020-2021 academic year. The SBA reflects the student voice of the law school and the Board is critical to ensuring student success and well-being in law school. Students who dedicate their time to serving on SBA do so knowing that it consists of long hours and lots of planning to help enrich the experience of the entire student body.

“I’m hoping that my year as SBA president creates a more open line of communication between SBA and the student body, student organizations, and the community,” said Jennifer Sariol, incoming SBA President.

Jennifer, a rising third-year law student, chose to attend NIU Law because of its small size and family feel. She is interested in pursuing a career in Trusts and Estates law. She is the past Justice of Phi Alpha Delta (PAD) and was on the board of numerous student clubs, including SBA. As SBA President, Jennifer looks forward to having more student forums and connecting students to opportunities they may be interested in.

Also excited for her new role is SBA incoming Vice President, Stephanie, who is looking forward to using her position to help other law students. “The community at NIU has enabled me to grow as a student and professional and I want to continue that tradition as Vice President of SBA,” she said.

Stephanie chose NIU Law because of its strong sense of community and proximity to Chicago. Stephanie served as Vice Justice of PAD and credits the organization with allowing her to make lasting connections and participate in many professional development events. She looks forward to planning programs and events to facilitate student development.
