Dr. Mary Milano (’78)

Dr. Mary Milano (’78) and Kenya Jenkins-Wright (’03) have been appointed as co-chairs for the Illinois State Bar Association’s newly created Steering Committee on Racial Inequality, which was borne out of a resolution passed by the ISBA Assembly this past June. In addition, Matt Pfeiffer (’00) was appointed as a member of this committee.

This special committee is tasked to provide guidance, coordination, prioritization, and accountability of the ISBA structure to advance racial equality. Its purpose will be to identify areas in which the structures of the legal system fail to support and promote equal justice, advance policy and legislative solutions across substantive areas, to examine the structures of the profession and/or reformation both to eliminate barriers to full inclusion, and to create affirmative approaches to and professional responsibility for the advancement of equality, justice, and inclusion.
