NIU Law Professors Marc Falkoff and Robert Jones were featured on the panel – Ask an Expert: The January 6 Insurrection, Constitutional Processes, and the Peaceful Transition of Power. The program, which took place on January 14, was moderated by NIU Executive Vice President and Provost Beth Ingram.
The discussion centered around the events of January 6, which shook the nation. The panel fielded questions from the moderator and audience on a variety of issues including what happened that day, whether the Cabinet should invoke the 25th Amendment, what is sedition, the role the National Guard plays in protecting the safety of Congress, and when a protest is really a riot.
