He has carried that spirit forward at his law firm, which offers pro bono representation to low-income clients.
Representative Vella is active in the community and serves on several volunteer Boards. His work in the community has focused on helping the most vulnerable and children. He is a former board member at the Rockford Literacy Council, which helps people who didn’t finish high school get jobs. While on the board, he focused his work on developing programs for adults.
As a huge supporter of education, he was the former Board President at Keith Country Day School. While on the board, he helped hire several new teachers and modernized the school’s curriculum to ensure our students received the best possible education.
