The Honorable Michael Betar (’92) was appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court’s COVID-19 Task Force Evictions Committee. Judge Betar has been an Associate Judge in Lake County, Illinois since 2008. Prior to becoming a Judge, Judge Betar practiced law for 16 years in Cook and Lake Counties where he concentrated in business and commercial litigation, landlord-tenant disputes, labor law, construction disputes, collections, and general civil litigation.
Judge Betar was one of four judges in the state recently appointed to the Illinois Supreme Court’s COVID-19 Task Force Evictions Committee. Judge Betar currently presides over an Evictions and Collections call in Lake County.
