Nancy A. Nicholson was appointed an associate judge in the 21st Judicial Circuit (Kankakee and Iroquois counties) and sworn in on Feb 11, 2021.
Prior to her appointment, Judge Nicholson served as the Kankakee County Assistant State’s Attorney since from 2012-2021 and also from 2004-2010. While working in the state’s attorney office, Nicholson handled traffic, represented Kankakee County in civil matters and represented the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services in county paternity and child support cases. From 2010-2012, Judge Nicholson spent two years as an attorney at Elliott and McClure.
Judge Nicholson received her undergraduate from William Jewell College in Liberty, MO prior to attending the NIU College of Law. She is a member of the Kankakee County Bar Association.
