Assistant Professor Matt Timko Elected as AALL Special Interest Section Vice-Chair

Professor Matt TimkoAssistant Professor Matt Timko, Academic Technologies & Outreach Services Librarian, has been elected as Vice Chair of the American Association of Law Libraries’ Research, Instruction and Patron Services Special Interest Section (RIPS-SIS). RIPS provides a forum for the exchange of ideas and information on topics affecting patrons in all law library public services areas and furthers the continuing education of law librarians in the areas of research, instruction and patron services.

Professor Timko was also recently awarded a grant by the Chicago Association of Law Libraries to attend the American Association of Law Libraries’ eLearning course, Introduction to Library Budgets.

Matt Timko joined the NIU College of Law Library faculty in 2017. As a reference and instructional librarian, Matt teaches Basic Legal Research and assists patrons of the law library with their research needs. He also assists in the use of academic technologies throughout the College of Law, integrates the use of legal technologies into the law curriculum and engages in outreach to the NIU and legal communities.
