Beverly Jones (’15) received a Presidential Award at the Cook County Bar Association’s (CCBA) 108th Annual Installation and Awards Banquet on June 24, 2022. CCBA’s Past-President Cannon Lambert honored ten CCBA members with the award for their outstanding service and commitment to the organization during the Bar year.
Beverly is the former co-chair of the CCBA Lawyers in the Community Committee where she helped further the organization’s mission of service by providing legal resources and services to the community. During her term, she helped create a Know-Your-Rights pamphlet about COVID-19 vaccinations in the workplace, organized CCBA’s food and distribution drive for the Chicagoland community, participated in a Chicago Public Library panel discussion educating citizens about diversity in the legal profession, assisted with CCBA’s holiday toy drive, and coordinated a panel discussion for law students on obtaining and succussing at their first internship or summer job.
Earlier this year, Beverly joined the Illinois Supreme Court as a Judicial Law Clerk to The Honorable P. Scott Neville. She assists Justice Neville in the preparation of Supreme Court opinions and other judicial matters. She was previously employed at the Office of the State Appellate Defender as an Assistant Appellate Defender where she represented indigent clients on their criminal appeals in the Illinois Appellate Court and Illinois Supreme Court. In 2016, she was a Judicial Law Clerk to The Honorable Mary W. McDade at the Illinois Appellate Court, Third District. During law school, Beverly received the 2015 Outstanding Woman Student Award.
