Why do you give to NIU College of Law?
I give because NIU College of Law gave so much to me. The faculty, staff, and alumni created an environment where I could thrive, both personally and professionally. I am deeply grateful for that experience, and I want to ensure that NIU Law remains a strong, supportive resource for future generations of attorneys.
What would you say to people who are considering a gift to NIU College of Law?
I would encourage everyone to give because NIU Law is truly distinct. It provides a welcoming and supportive environment for students from all backgrounds. I can personally attest to the school’s investment in my success—from scholarship support at admission, to bar preparation resources, to career services after graduation. NIU Law alumni continue to make invaluable contributions throughout Illinois and beyond, and supporting the school strengthens that legacy.
What motivates you to stay connected with NIU College of Law?
The Alumni Council plays a big role in keeping me engaged, as it allows me to give back to the school and support each new class of students. I’m also inspired by the leadership of Dean Hill, who is elevating NIU Law’s profile nationally, as well as by Assistant Dean Melody Mitchell and the dedicated staff, who create meaningful opportunities for alumni to remain connected and contribute to the law school community year-round.
